Busy October

Well, I'm late doing my once-a-month post, but it's been pretty busy around here. We hosted a picnic for our friends in the Georgia Association for Prader-Willi Syndrome last Saturday. We had 65 people with 15 different families represented. I have to say our gatherings are like huge family reunions. Because we all have Prader-Willi Syndrome in our lives, there is in instant connection. We toss aside formality and go straight to hugging, laughing and crying together. Some of the families we have met along our journey are some of our dearest friends. What a gift!

Speaking of family reunions, the other reason things are busy around here is that we are hosting my side of the family this weekend for our bi-annual reunion. We are really looking forward to catching up and hanging out together. It's extra-special this time because we will be celebrating my parents' 40th wedding anniversary (which actually is on October 21st). Another gift! I'll try to post another picture or two after the weekend.
