Miscellaneous Catch-Up

See the score? Tech 31, FSU 28

Amy and Neal were at the game and got to see the exciting finish - FSU fumbled with 45 seconds left in the game to seal the victory for Tech. Amy said her dad got a "little carried away" celebrating the victory. Not hard to imagine!

Christina's last day on the bus. We have absolutely LOVED having Chester as her bus driver. He is a tender-hearted Grandpa who takes wonderful care of the special children on his bus. Christina is going to start 1/2 days at school this week and I will work with her one-on-one in the afternoons, so I will be picking her up from school. I have to admit, although I am very excited about her new schedule, it was very sad to say goodbye to Chester. Telling him Thank You for what he does seemed so inadequate.

Amy complained last year that we left out Thankgsiving and said she wanted to decorate this year. I bought a couple of decorations which didn't seem like enough, so in these challenging economic times, we used our ingenuity and made pinecone turkeys! We have about 5-6 of them around the house and will probably make a few more. It has definitely lent a feeling of Thanksgiving to the atmosphere :-)

Christina had crazy hair day at school last week.

We hosted the PWS Group Family Picnic at our house in October. All the children in this picture have Prader-Willi Syndrome. It is such a gift to be a part of a group where the parents can encourage and support one another AND the kids get to make friends with others who have similar challenges. It's like a big family reunion when we get together.

Amy's 6th grade class at Orchard Hills Academy. They have been reading the first book in the Lord of the Rings series and dressed up as the characters for the Open House. Amy is Frodo.

Christina the Cat at OHA Open House. They had a face painter who did true artwork on the faces of the children. It was amazing to watch. A&B opted NOT to have their faces painted.

Brooke at Open House dressed as an Egyptian (minus the make-up and jewelry which she wasn't interested in having). The red house above her head is her drawing.

Fall Yard Decor and our three "pumpkins"

This is what we've been doing for the past few weeks. Lots of Fall Fun and beginning to look forward to the holidays. Three and a half weeks until Thanksgiving, seven and a half weeks until Christmas!!!
